The JOINT FORUM FOR ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES OF INDIA AND NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES was first formulated at a meeting on 15.7.22 AT SILIGURI APICON 2022

It was accepted that that a joint forum for academic collaboration will be established consisting of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka. A Committee will be formed with representatives from all countries. Later on it was renamed GLOBAL FORUM with the inclusion of Royal college of Physicians and surgeons of Glasgow , European Federation of Internal Medicine ,Mc Master University of Canada , and other Physician societies from Malaysia , Australia and ISIM.

The activities of this forum include
1. Regular joint Masterclasses for PG Students
2. Guest lectures virtual / physical
3. Mutual invitation and participation in national Conference
4. A separate Symposium /session will be allotted for speakers from this forum.
5. Joint research activity
6. Disease registry /Practice guideline formulation
7. Publication from this forum to be featured in Bengal Physician Journal

The aim of this forum is to uphold and uplift medical knowledge and education by mutual exchange and collaboration .It brings the physicians from diverse backgrounds and countries of origin to work hand in hand for mutual enrichment of knowledge and practice .

I hope this venture goes a long way to be a vehicle and mouthpiece for dissemination of creative and significant knowledge .
